In this video, my Queensland installer, Mat, gives you some tips and tricks on getting the very best backyard golf green.
These tips, are especially useful, for the DIYer looking at building their own synthetic golf green. If you take onboard these construction tips, you’ll certainly save yourself some time and money. Watch the video below:
Here’s a summary
The 3 main point of the video are as follows:
- Make sure you plan your golf green first. Draw a diagram and get all the dimensions. This makes it super-easy to order the right amount of grass and base materials. Obviously, you can stretch the synthetic grass, so if you don’t have enough, you’ll be in big trouble.
- Take your time with the baseworks. It’s imperative that the baseworks are firm and drain well. You shouldn’t rush this step because if the base isn’t any good, your green will be no good.
- Don’t go too steep with the breaks and slopes. This is still the #1 mistake DIYers make with their golf green install. Keep things subtle and allow the water to drain off.
